通常，UV灯管可分为UVA和UVB两种。
Q8/UV灯管
UVA-340灯管：UVA-340 灯管可极好地模拟太阳光中的短波紫外光，即从365 纳米到太阳光截止点 295 纳米的波长范围。
UVB-313灯管：UVB-313 灯管发出的短波紫外光比通常照射在地球表面的太阳紫外线∮强烈，从而可以最大程度的加速材料老化。然而，该灯管可能会对某些材料造成不符合实际的破坏。UVB-313 灯管主要用于质量控制和研究开发，或对耐候性极强的材料运行测试。
UVA-351灯管：模拟透过窗玻璃的阳光紫▃外光，它对于测试室内材料的老化最为有效。
模拟雨露潮湿冷凝环境
在很多户外环境中，材料每■天的潮湿时间可长达12小时。研究表明造成这种户外潮湿的主要因素是露水，而不是雨水。Q8/UV通过独特的冷凝功能来模拟户外的潮湿侵蚀。在试验过程中的冷凝循环中，测试室底部蓄水池中的水被加热以产生热蒸气，并充满整个测试室，热蒸▓汽使测试室内的相对湿度维持在100％，并保持一个相对高温。试样被固定在测试室的侧壁，从而试样的测试面曝露在测试室内的环境○空气中。试样向外的一面暴露在自然环境中具有冷却效果，导致试样内外表面具备温差，这一温差的出现导致试样在整个冷凝循环过程中，其测试面始终〗有冷凝生成的液态水。
由于户外曝晒接触潮湿的时间每天可以长达十几小时，因此典型的冷凝循环一般持续几个小时。Q8/UV提供两种潮湿模拟方法。应用最多的◣是冷凝方法，它是模拟户外潮湿侵蚀的最好方法。所有的Q8/UV型号都可运行冷凝循环。因为有些应用条件也要求使用水喷淋以达到↑实际的效果■，所以有些Q8/UV型号既可运行冷凝循环又可运行水喷淋循环。
