自动指示旋光仪是↘测定物质的旋光度的仪器，通过旋光度的测定，可以分析物质的浓度、合量及纯度等。该仪器采用光电检测器及晶体自动指示数装置，具有体积小，灵敏度高，没有人差，读数方便等特点，对目视旋光度难以分析的低旋光度样品也能适应。
广泛用于化学工业、制药工业、制糖工业、香料工业、石油工业及食品工业。在医院临床上，还可用来作医学验等。
