These are the installation instructions for replacing the firmware in a DPO4000 or MSO4000 series oscilloscope with the firmware in the DPO4000_v*.zip file. Note that even though the file is named "DPO4000", it supports the MSO4000 series products as well.

The History of DPO4000 and MSO4000 Firmware(固化软件历史版本升级 )
Note: Starting with firmware version 2.13, there are some features and bug fixes that do not apply to DPO models with a serial number of C020000 or less. Those items are denoted with a ’+’.
New Features: + Serial trigger and bus decode for LIN standard.(Requires DPO4AUTO or DPO4AUTOMAX application module.) + Serial trigger and bus decode for FlexRay standard.(Requires DPO4AUTOMAX application module.) - SPI Bus word size can now be specified from 4 to 32 bits. Previously it was hardcoded to 8 bits. - SPI bit order can now be specified as most significant or least significant first. + SPI bus now supports 2-wire decode and trigger by allowing idle time framing to be specified. - CAN bus now triggers on Bit Stuffing Error. - CAN bus now supports custom bit rates. - RS232 bus now supports 9-bit data. - RS232 bus now supports custom bit rates. - Delay On/Off control added to Acquire menu. - HiRes acquisition mode now available with Roll Mode. - Save Waveform Gating - save only a portion of a waveform. - Screen annotation was added to the Utility->Display menu. Previously this functionality was only available over the programmatic interface via the MESSAGE commands. - Automatic timing measurements now work on digital channels. - Four new "counting" measurements: positive/negative pulse count and rising/falling edge count. Performance Improvements: - I2C missing ACK now displayed only for actual errors. + CAN bus sample point range increased to 5-95% (was 25-75%). - CAN bus waveform now shows packet errors. - RS232 bus data values can now be entered in ASCII format. - Reset Horizontal Position button in Acquire menu is now a bottom-bezel action button rather than invoking a side menu. - Various improvements to Autoset behavior in corner cases such as when there are no input signals. - Some side menus now use knob-controlled lists that cover up less of the graticule area. - The measurement menu now shows graphical and textual "help" descriptions of the various measurements. - All menus that have adjustable thresholds now have a list of presets for easier setting to commonly-used values. - The Logic Trigger and Setup & Hold Trigger menus have been greatly simplified. - The Add Printer menu now remembers previously entered information, making it much easier to add multiple similarly-named printers. - Various cosmetic improvements in the user interface. - Improvements to Trigger Level Accuracy test during calibration. - Improved instructions in factory calibration menus. - Reference waveform Ref Details menu now shows the sample rate and record length of the reference waveform. - Waveform intensity and persistence algorithms have been significantly improved. Bug Fixes: - I2C bus decode does not precisely match the I2C specification with respect to reading data from 10-bit peripheral devices. + I2C bus doesn’t always trigger correctly when clock and data are held low during the idle period. - CAN bus decoding - once an error frame is found, no further decoding is done. - Parallel bus thresholds don’t work for Bus 4. - During Play at certain slow time per div settings, the new acquisition is not displayed. - Previous XY waveform can be momentarily displayed after leaving XY mode, when certain settings are changed. - A double edge can be displayed occasionally at frequencies below 1kHz. - "rtl 205x" errors occasionally appear in the Error Log. - AutoZero function on certain probes sometimes stops acquisitions. - Vertical offset knob control difficult to use at large V/div setting. - e*Scope saves CSV data to file with ISF suffix. - e*Scope "put waveform" function doesn’t always display correctly. - Certain items in InkSaver mode don’t print in the correct color. - There are a number of inconsistencies in behavior related to channel invert in conjunction with cursors, measurements, math, trigger, and search. - Vertical position of fft is not recalled in saved setups. - P5210 and P5205 probes can have their impedance set to 50 Ohms but these are 1M-only probes. - Changing to 10M record length causes trace to disappear when stopped. - A number of menu translations, in various languages, are not correct. Bug Fixes:
- Fixes a "double trigger" or "waveform ghost" phenomenom where the screen displays two copies of the same waveform, offset horizontally from one another. This problem does not occur on the MSO 4000 series. It can only occur on DPO 4000 models with a serial number greater than C020000 and even then, it is a rare problem that does not occur on most instruments. Bug Fixes:
- Fixes a responsiveness problem on MSO products that only occurs under certain conditions when the instrument has been running for a long period of time. New Features:
- Video related features - IRE and mV graticules (at 114mV/div) - Trigger holdoff by fields - Video Autoset - Support for new DPO4VID Extended Video application module. Includes: - Custom and HDTV video triggering - XY acquisition mode.Includes: - Display any combination of Ch1 vs Ch2, Ch3 vs Ch4, Ref1 vs Ref2, and Ref3 vs Ref4 - Simultaneous display of XY and YT waveforms - Extensive XY cursor readouts - Polarity control for RS-232 bus waveforms, enabling support for RS-422, RS-485, and UART serial standards - Screen annotation via the programmatic interface only. I.e., the MESSAGE family of commands Performance Improvements: - Significant reduction in Trigger Jitter on Edge trigger mode - Significantly reduced the time it takes to save files to USB flash drives and CompactFlash cards Bug Fixes: - Fixed problems triggering on error/overload frames on CAN signals - Vertical bar cursor no longer misses the zoom window when moving it across the screen at high zoom factors - Improved cursor resolution for zoomed-in digital waveforms - InkSaver improvements - I2C bus decoding now works correctly at 1k record length - Hexadecimal display format now works for RS-232 buses - SPI bus is now supported on the MSO4032 - A significant number of relatively minor bugs were fixed in this release and therefore this release is highly recommended for all DPO4000 and MSO4000 Series products New Features:
- This version of firmware is the first to support the mixed-signal oscilloscope (MSO) products. Previous firmware versions will not operate on MSO products - Support for the DPO4COMP application module (RS-232 triggering and decoding) - Support for TDP1000 and TDP0500 TekVPI differential probes - Support for TAP3500 active probe - Support for TCPA300 and TCPA400 current probes - User-definable waveform labels - USB keyboard support for editing labels and file names - Save All Waveforms (single .CSV file or multiple .ISF files) - Increased maximum number of averages from 128 to 512 - Increased horizontal position range at slow sweep speeds - Added new threshold presets - Added 8-bit and 11-bit decoding for I2C (read/write bit is included in decoded value) - Added 37 Kb/s and 92.2 Kb/s CAN bit rates - Set trigger level to 50% feature now applies to trigger on bus to automatically set bus thresholds Performance Improvements: - 10X increase in waveform capture rate - Approximately 10X increase in long record length transfer speed Bug Fixes: - Fixed bug on DPO4032, DPO4034 and DPO4054 where jitter was evident on odd channels when exiting average mode - Improvements to Ink Saver mode printing New Features:
